What are fractals of sound?
As a Classically trained musician, I spent many years in college studying music theory and form. I learned about the various musical components that create a piece from a single chord out to the big picture layout of a work.
In tangent with that education, I learned about fractals. Mandelbrot discovered the geometric fractals of nature, but I have found fractals to be a spiritual design that manifests in people, creation, and communities in different ways. A lot of these fractals have been explored and developed by Arthur Burk and the Sapphire Leadership Group, and can be studied in their material, but also in scripture and in their various manifestations in the world.
As I learned about fractals, I saw a very clear application of the fractals in music. The seven solfege reflecting the Redemptive Gifts and the fractal of 7 in scripture was a beginning. The 12 pitches expressing the fractal of 7+5: the Redemptive Gifts and the sequence of 5 that God made holy in the Bible was next, and the musical fractals seemed to open up from there.
In 2020, I wrote a research paper, “A Chronicle of Sound: Establishing Community,” in which I refute the healing frequencies and the new age movement’s precursor to God’s move in bringing a new sound to earth. In that refutation, I describe the foundational fractals of sound from the perspective of music theory and acoustical physics as a functional alternative.

I realized this past Summer that I wrote that research paper in 2020, and while I had continued to study the correlations of fractals and sound, I had not published anything since on the topic. The disparity is too much! I am currently working on a Music Theory textbook style paper that more thoroughly describes the various fractals I’ve explored so far. This textbook will be suitable either for the trained musician who already has a thorough understanding of music theory, or for those who are in process for college-level musical studies.
